Rapper Lil Nas X has shared a snippet of his forthcoming single, “Industry Baby,” which was co-produced by Kanye West alongside Take A Daytrip.
The 2-minute teaser video stars the 22-year-old musician in a variety of roles, including that of himself, his attorney, and a court judge, who have gathered for the Nike v. Lil Nas X “Satan Shoes” trial, which alludes to the original Nike vs. MSCHF trademark infringement and dilution case that was settled in April.
“This is about much more than shoes,” states the prosecutor, who is also played by the rapper himself. “Mr. Nas X, are you gay?”
The sketch closes with the judge ordering Nas a 5-year sentence at the Montero State Prison, after which a montage of the singer’s mugshots is played alongside a snippet of the new song.
Featuring Jack Harlow, the song is slated to drop on Friday, July 23.
