THE BILL ROLLINS SHOW

WITH BILL ROLLINS

Bill started his career in radio way back in 1965. At seventeen he joined the short-lived Radio Tower on the Sunk Head Fort off the Essex coast. He worked there until the station closed due to financial reasons early in 1966. He then started working as an electrical engineer until early 1980, when he was working at East Anglian Productions in Frinton on Sea. While working there he produced the acclaimed Radio Caroline album box and the Laser 558 story.

He became involved with Caroline during the late 70’s often working with the Disco version of the Caroline Roadshow – the Radio Roadshow – working with the likes of Brian Martin and Roger Matthews. Bill also, it is said, operated the ship to shore link during the time the Ross Revenge was in the Knock Deep – he of course would never admit to such a misdemeanor!!Bill worked for Mellow 1557 from January 1991, doing various shows, including 18 months on The Breakfast Show before moving to Drivetime.

He is now retired, but continues recording shows for Atlantic Oldies 2NG and now enjoys working on Caroline Flashback
