DARK SIDE OF THE MOON

This two hour show started out twelve years ago as a 6 month trial and is now heard weekly on stations worldwide Chat is kept to a minimum as music is the key in this show. Initially I thought it would run for a few years yet it is now the show most people ask for. Songs can run over ten minutes on this programme where we can stretch things out, and with the ‘sloppy bit in the middle’ and the intro quiz at the end of the show the time just flies by. I not only play the famous tracks by the likes of Genesis, Pink Floyd and The Moody Blues, but the lesser known bands such as Wishbone Ash, The Strawbs and The Allman Brothers Band.

MARLEY IN THE MORNING

When it comes to music, it literally rules Dave's life. He has been DJing since the early 80s, but it wasn’t until the mid 90’s that he became interested in radio presenting. Dave loves and respect all types of good music, right from as far back as the classic 60s through to the indie pop ’90s & 00s. He grew up in West London listening to the radio as a young lad and started collecting vinyl at the mere age of 5 years old. He would save up his pocket money to buy records as often as possible, and even now, 50-odd years on, he is still collecting music and is now running out of space to store his massive vinyl collection. Dave was always a massive fan of the original “Pick of the Pop” presented by the late great Alan “Fluff” Freeman back in the day, and he always wanted to take a stab at doing his own breakfast show. So here it is.. "Dave Marley's - Marley in the Morning" 3 hours of great "feel good" music every weekday morning (Monday to Friday) from 7am to 10am. Great music from the 60s through to the 00s. Including feachures such as "the feel good hour" "80s at 8" "The 5 at 9" "The Workout Track" "Celeb Birthdays" "The Daily Vintage TV Theme" "Classic Album of the Week" and much more... All that and more, cramed into 3 hours every morning. Someone said recently.. "ITS THE BEST THING SINCE TISWAS!" tune in and make up you own mind. Catch the show here, weekdays from 7am to 10am Email me: marleyinthemorning@gmail.com Facebook (pop over and give Dave a "LIKE") : https://www.facebook.com/marleyinthemorning

SIXTIES MUSIC MEMORIES

Presenter Bio  Name:Keith and Ruth Bradshaw  Show:Sixties Music Memories   Keith and Ruth Bradshaw are a husband-and-wife team with a love of popular music stretching back to the 1950s and the birth of rock n roll. For them, presenting a weekly trip back into the music of the golden decade that shaped the face of popular music – forever – is a labour of love!  Keith grew up in Morecambe on the Northwest Riviera. In the 1960s, it was a bustling seaside resort frequented by the bands of the day – Beatles, Stones, Shadows, Kinks, Hollies and more. The theatres hosted the much sought after music package shows, featuring top American recording artists and groups. By contrast, Ruth’s from Tushingham in rural South Cheshire.  Both are former secondary school teachers, specialising in history – nostalgia and a feeling for the past features strongly in their programmes. Keith has also worked in Public Relations and Journalism.  They have lived and worked in and around Leyland, Central Lancashire for 30 years or more. Both are active members of Go on Tour (Golden Oldies), an Over-55s entertainment group. Keith is the MC and part-time comedian, while Ruth sings and dances.   Of their weekly Sixties Music Memories show, one critic wrote:   At the heart of the show is a diverse selection of tracks from all the popular (and less popular) US and UK genres of the decade. Their track selection carefully avoids any ‘Sixties Favourites Compilation’ effect and instead combines familiar tracks with many you may have forgotten, have not heard for ages or have never heard.   There is a constant and fascinating flow of information about the artists and songs - even listeners who are very knowledgeable about the decade report having learnt something new each week and being tested by their musical challenges. This breadth, depth and variety of content, incorporating a range of musical styles from pure commercial pop to psychedelic strangeness, is what gives the show its musical credibility and, for the target listener, a compelling reason to listen.   This show is presented with warmth and a goodly dose of humour. While dual presenters can sometimes get in each other’s way, Keith and Ruth have perfected a wonderfully relaxed and fluid interplay, which often ends up with genuine laughter and giggles from Ruth. Keith’s ‘jokes and Ruth’s affectionate put downs are another key feature of the show. The overall impression from listening is that they are having fun and you can join in.   Their relaxed homely style creates a feeling that they are right with you in your living room, playing the music and chatting to you. In so doing they even create the illusion they are making it up as they go along - deftly belying the time, research and attention to detail they have invested to make the show come over as unscripted.   Join Keith and Ruth every week as they relive so many great memories from the 1960s!

JUKE IN THE BACK

About Juke in The Back

1940s & ’50s Rhythm & Blues At the end of the Second World War, economics forced the big bands to trim their once great size and thus, the Jump Blues combo was born. Between 1946-1954, rhythm and blues laid the tracks for what was to become Rock n’ Roll. So how come, 70 years later, this vibrant and influential music is still so unknown to so many? Matt The Cat is going to change that with the radio program, “Juke in The Back.” These were the records that you couldn’t hear on the jukebox in the front of the establishment. To hear all this great 1950s rhythm & blues, you had to go to “Juke in The Back.” (812) 585-3682

live365.com/station/RetroRock-Internet-Radio-a00085
Rhett started his broadcast career in Jackson Tennessee at WKBJ AM (Milan, TN) as a board op on Saturday mornings, and engineer for Casey Kasem’s American Top 40 on Sundays. Within 2 months he was “Promoted” to overnights on the am jams sister FM station “The Nu 92 FM” (WYNU). He moved back to Memphis keeping his overnight gig and picked up Weekend overnights at Rock 103 (WZXR). HE considers his first “Big Time” gig in the Biz to be the first job that made him move in order to accept, which was  99.5 KRIX Brownsville TX. He also began working in the Rio Grande Valleys high-energy dance Station (KRGV/KRGE) as the “Z-Man”.

When he moved to the Monterey Bay Area in California he was again in the right place at the right time, because the local classical radio station flipped from KBACH (KBOQ) to K-ROCK 103.9 (KRQC), where he landed his first F/T Morning Drive shift and kept it while commuting to the University of the Pacific in Stockton. It was at UOP he met Darren McGavinRalph Guild, and Jon Crabbe (all UOP Alums), as they recognized his commercial broadcasting experience as well as a natural real-world business style, they handed him the task of building a new campus radio station of, by, and for the students. He built KPAC – “The Runaway Radio Station” which is currently known as “The Roar of the Pacific“ and the next semester he created KPAC-TV as well.

Rhett was the epitome of a “Road Warrior” as he literally travelled around the world (over 7 times mileage wise) while working in the High-Tech industry in Silicon Valley since the dawn of the 21st century. Fast forward to January 2020…… He constructed and launched KRIR-db  “RetroRock Internet Radio”.
